Eight Medal Haul at Two Events

On Sunday 28 April two groups of students headed off to different competitions that were both taking place on the same day.

Ethan Ward, Jack Hopewell and Arunas Beliukevicius travelled to Peterborough for the Thomas Deacon u20 Competition, whilst Peter Harcsa-Pinter, Rebecca McQuone, Dylan Tait, Renee Holland and Danae Spademan remained in Nottingham to support our clubs’ Red Belt Rumble.

In Peterborough Ethan claimed Gold, whilst both Jack and Arunas both claimed Silver medals.

At the Nottingham event the red belts faired just as well, with Peter claiming Gold winning all his three contests by Ippon throws, the total time of all three contests combined was a speedy 61 seconds.

Dylan and Rebecca claimed Silver medals, Dylan lost his first contest but then battled back with two Ippon wins, Rebecca also lost her first contest but the won the second by two yukos.

Renee and Danae completed the medal haul with a Bronze medal each.

These were fantastic results from both sets of players and we hope to see more of our students taking the competition pathway.
