Nottingham Open 2011 – Results

On Sunday 12 June Nottingham Judo held its main event of the year the ‘Nottingham Open’ which was held for the second year at the Wildcats Arena in Bakersfield.

There were a total of 163 competitors that fought throughout the day of which there were five players representing our club.

Ethan Ward, Brandon Allsebrook, Jack Hopewell and Marija Beliukeviciute were all in the u12 year old age band; Ethan was in the u34kg, Brandon and Jack u38kg and Marija u40kg.

All the boys fought well, Ethan and Brandon both won one out of three contests and Jack won three out of five contests which earned Jack a 5th Place.

Marija was in a pool with four other players and won three of her four contests securing a silver medal.

Our final competitor of the day was Joshua Williamson he was in the u16 years u42kg category, Josh also fought well but did not make a medal position.

We are really pleased with the competitive progress that our lower grades are making, I am sure if they continue that we will see them earn medals at next years event.
